How Medicare Smart Are You?

Your client says they don’t need Medicare BackOffice® because they use the government’s Medicare website, www.medicare.gov, and its Medicare Plan Finder. Calling Medicare BackOffice to speak to its Licensed Insurance Agents is a better option for your client than using the government website for which of the following reasons:

  1. Out-of-pocket cost information is difficult to understand on the government website
  2. Human support is not available on the government website
  3. The government website’s plan comparisons do not permit inclusion of Medigap policies
  4. Provider and pharmacy directions are difficult to navigate on the government website
  5. All of the above

The answer is 'E. All of the above.'

A report by the National Council on Aging and the Clear Choices Campaign found that the government website failed to deliver on its promises to help consumers to compare plans and choose one that best meets their needs. If your client mentions the government’s Medicare Plan Finder, tell them about the report’s findings of these inadequacies and suggest that they call Medicare BackOffice.
