Questions About Referral Fees

Yes, direct deposit is required. If you are new to Medicare BackOffice, signing up for direct deposit will be done with your registration. If you are a current partner looking to change direct deposit, please email info@medicarebackoffice.com with the updated direct deposit forms.

If you accept referral fees and are being paid directly by us, you will need to complete a W-9. If you are registering and your firm is already registered and we are paying referral fees, you typically do not need a W-9. Check with your firm to determine if they are set up as a Medicare BackOffice partner before completing your W-9. Please send completed forms to info@medicarebackoffice.com.

No. Our services are free of charge to you and your clients.

Medicare Supplement and Medicare Advantage health insurance plans, dental and other health insurance related products. Keep in mind with recent changes to the Medicare Part D landscape, we can no longer assist on the prescription drug plans.

Referral fees are only paid for those Medicare Supplement plans that are underwritten or in Open Enrollment once the policy issues and is paid by the carrier. Medicare Advantage referral fees will be paid out once issued and paid by the carrier. We do not pay referral fees on Medicare Part D prescription drug plans, dental, vision, hearing or other ancillary products.

The amount of the referral fee varies by product but generally ranges from $100 to $200.

We will pay you the month after the policy is issued and we are paid by the carrier, typically around the 15th of the month.

You do not have to receive a referral fee. You will be asked this question during initial registration. You can always change your decision, just email us at info@medicarebackoffice.com.

No. Referral fees are paid one time per client.

From your personalized dashboard on our website, you can either download the monthly total amounts, or on a different screen, download the transaction details, which include client name, product type and your payment amount.

Email info@medicarebackoffice.com and provide your name and the name of your client. We will research to make sure that the policy has been issued and that we have been paid by the carrier.

You get paid for that referral, too! The more you refer and the more those referred clients refer, the more you get paid!

Questions About Process

Absolutely!

Yes, and we encourage you to do so and to ask questions. We also encourage you to review our process before having your clients contact us, so you fully understand our process.

We will email you to let you know that we discussed Medicare plan options with your client. Because there can be some time between our initial discussion with your client and when he or she makes a decision on a Medicare plan, we also will email you when the client enrolls in a Medicare plan through us. If your client hasn’t enrolled in a Medicare plan through us after about six months, we will email you with that update. See the whole process here. You also can check the status of clients you’ve referred to us at any time by logging in to the Medicare BackOffice website to view your “My Referrals” dashboard. The “My Referrals” dashboard lists the names of all clients you have referred to us, each client’s referral date, and their status in our system.
